Register to Attend Volunteer Iowa Day at the Capitol

WHAT IS VOLUNTEER IOWA DAY AT THE CAPITOL: Hosted by Volunteer Iowa (Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service) for our programs and partners, this event is designed to communicate the value of service and the public policy priorities of Volunteer Iowa to legislators and policy makers. Participants have the opportunity to talk with their legislators about the impact volunteers have in Iowa and the critical services volunteers and national service members provide in their communities.

There is no fee to attend the Volunteer Iowa Day at the Capitol event, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. A training webinar is held in advance of the event, with a separate link provided below.
 
WHEN: Thursday, February 1st, 2024, 11am-1pm
 
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Any supporter of your program who can speak to the value of Volunteer Iowa to your program or organization.  This could include organizational leadership, board members, program staff, program participants, national service members, mentors and mentees, and volunteers. 

REGISTRATION: EACH PARTICIPANT SHOULD REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY

LOCATION: Iowa State Capitol- South Rotunda
Volunteer Iowa staff will be available at a table in the South Rotunda from 11am to 1pm. You may schedule meetings with legislators anytime throughout the day.

MEETING WITH LEGISLATORS: Meetings are often informal and may take place outside the legislative chambers or at a location requested by your legislator.

TRAINING WEBINAR: The training webinar will prepare attendees with information about the day and Volunteer Iowa's current policy priorities. Click here to join the training webinar at 11am on Wednesday, January 17. A recording will be made available after the webinar.
